As depicted in the drawing (below), PSI composite is of the hybrid variety with an optimal amount of submicron filler between the macro filler. It has been designed for use with veneers, inlays, onlays, Maryland Bridges, posts, crown and bridge applications. The 7 shade system includes extra light (bleached shades), universal light, dark yellow, light yellow grey, light grey, dark grey and opaque white enhance the background coloring of any vita* shade. The various shades may be mixed together and can be used as a simple light cured cement or mixed with catalyst for a dual setting mechanism.
At the optimal level, the submicron filler functions like "ball bearings" to enhance the movement of the larger macro filler. This results in a higher filler loading while still maintaining thixotropic handling characteristics. Since the viscosity of the composite is influenced by the particle size (surface area) of the submicron filler, every attempt is made to use consistent batches of Aerosil silica.
An optimal hybrid mix and ratio of resin to filler allows maximization of physical characteristics, enhanced diametral tensile strength, good compressive strength, lowered water sorption and film thickness, a higher Young's Modulus, higher fracture toughness, lowered polymerization shrinkage, lowered coefficient of thermal expansion, increased depth of cure, enhanced color stability and increased shelf life.

Confi-Dental is FDA registered and an ISO 9001 Certified manufacturing facility that is in full compliance with GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) and participates in ADA Certification and Acceptance Programs as they apply to the products. PSI Dental repackages the bulk product into syringes and small bottles for sale in kit form or as individual syringe orders.
