Dr. Faunce experimented with hollow ground porcelain and acrylic denture teeth and various acrylic and composite mixes.

After a year of using various methods and materials for bonding laminate veneers and some success with patients, the first article written on laminate veneers appeared in the Texas Dental Journal, August 1975.
